Two habitats build one bird list — the lake margin at Makakatana, then the hilltop forest at Sungulwane.

Makakatana Bay Lodge → Sungulwane Private Game Lodge
Nights 1–3
Makakatana Bay Lodge
The list opens on the water: eco-boat mornings along the reedbed edge of Lake St Lucia and guided walks on the lake margin.
Nights 4–6
Sungulwane Private Game Lodge
The second half climbs inland to the hilltop at Sungulwane, where the Red Ivory forest and the open bushveld carry a different set of species.
